BCBA

My passion for ABA began when I started working as an RBT in 2022 and saw firsthand the difference that compassionate, individualized care can make in the lives of children and their families. Watching clients gain confidence, learn new skills, and achieve milestones they once struggled with inspired me to continue growing in this field. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida (UCF) and my Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Ball State University before becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). I enjoy collaborating with families and therapists to create meaningful progress while helping every child reach their fullest potential. I believe every child deserves an individualized approach that builds on their strengths, fosters confidence, and creates opportunities for lasting success. I strive to create an environment where children feel supported, families feel heard, and every milestone—big or small—is celebrated along the way.

BCBA

I was led to the field of Applied Behavior Analysis through a deep passion for serving children who are too often overlooked or underestimated. Early on, I met my pastor's son, who has Down syndrome, and that experience changed the direction of my life. It opened my eyes to the incredible potential within every child and the importance of having people who believe in them. From that moment, I knew I wanted to dedicate my career to supporting children with developmental differences and walking alongside the families who love them. For the past four years, I have had the privilege of working in the field of ABA, and I truly cannot imagine doing anything else. Every day, I am inspired by the resilience, determination, and joy of the children I serve. They work incredibly hard—often overcoming challenges that many people never see—and it is an honor to celebrate their growth. There is nothing more rewarding than watching a child accomplish something they once struggled with, whether it is communicating a need for the first time, making a new friend, or achieving a goal that once seemed out of reach. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Psychology, followed by my Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Ball State University, where I also obtained a graduate certificate in Autism. My education has provided me with a strong clinical foundation, but it is the relationships I have built with children and their families that have shaped me into the clinician I am today. One of the things I am most passionate about is creating a true sense of community with the families I serve. I believe families should never feel like they are navigating their child's journey alone. My goal is to ensure every family feels heard, supported, and empowered, knowing they have someone who is not only ready to advocate for them but also genuinely invested in celebrating every success along the way. Whether a milestone is considered "big" or "small," every step forward deserves to be recognized because every step represents hard work, perseverance, and hope. For me, ABA has never simply been a career—it is a calling. It is the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of children and their families, to advocate for those who need a voice, and to help every child build the confidence and skills they need to reach their fullest potential.

Leah Martin

Clinical Director, BCBA

My name is Leah Martin, and I serve as the Clinical Director and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) for both The Pieces Fit Interventions' Winter Garden and Hunters Creek locations. I have been part of The Pieces Fit family since 2014, and it has been an incredible journey to grow alongside our team and the families we serve. I began as a camp counselor before advancing to Behavior Technician, Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), BCBA, and ultimately Clinical Director. My passion for working with children began long before my professional career. In high school, I participated in the Best Buddies program, where I discovered how meaningful it is to build relationships with individuals with disabilities and advocate for inclusion. Although I originally planned to become a Physician Assistant specializing in emergency medicine, I quickly fell in love with the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and knew I had found my calling. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from the University of South Florida and later completed my Master of Arts in Applied Behavior Analysis with a concentration in Autism at Ball State University. The most rewarding part of my career is advocating for individuals who cannot always advocate for themselves. I am passionate about empowering families with the knowledge and confidence to advocate for what their children deserve across every environment. I firmly believe that client dignity and ethical practice should always come first. My philosophy on ABA can be summed up in one phrase: compassion over compliance. I believe our children must first feel safe, supported, and regulated before meaningful learning can occur. Rather than focusing solely on compliance, I prioritize teaching self-regulation, fostering independence, and creating positive, individualized learning experiences that respect each child's unique needs and strengths. Collaboration is another cornerstone of my practice. I enjoy working alongside families, educators, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and other professionals to ensure our clients are successful across home, school, clinic, and community settings. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, cheering on the Green Bay Packers and the Orlando Magic, and making lasting memories with the people I love.
